ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Remarkables, Queenstown, NZ – Steve Rutherford Landscape Photography Art Gallery

This is an unframed, limited edition collection, landscape photography print of only 25 units. It is printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl papers, structured to refract the highest values in colour and detail. It’s high-quality ink absorbing layer enables exceptional image quality with enormously detailed sharpness, and a very broad colour range, providing archival permanency of your artwork for over 100 years.

CAPTURE DETAILS

On tripod, Canon 5DMk2, 55mm, F9, 1/160th sec, ISO 100, no filter, processed in Lightroom.

This image struck me from afar, as I travelled back on the paddle steamer the SS Earnslaw from Walter Peak farm. The shapes in the trees emulated the ridge line of the Remarkables, but the colour and light separates the two into their own. For me this image speaks volumes of being in a real mountain wilderness.

PHOTO TIP

Photography is a direct reflection of something that you interpret with your own eyes. You want to show something off to others, the way you saw it. To keep your images unique, you must practice your photography with this in mind. Do not capture images that you think others want to see. Capture them as you see them, and let other interpret your vision.
