One Sunday, I strolled around the back of the wharves at Millers Point, looking for odd shots of the city. The wharves were all but empty of anyone which left me to concentrate on the wharves and there buildings. I ducked into a hidden little shed and looked for a view out into the harbour, when I saw this old abandoned. cooktop. It must have been in that shed for years, and was probably forgotten, it was so corroded. Even though it’s time was over, I loved the way it almost stood proudly, like a typical Australian barbecue stands on the back deck at home. I had to capture it.

PHOTO TIP

When you go walking the streets, don’t just glimpse into an area, explore it. Never be afraid to keep going, round the corner, down the lane, under the balcony. I’ve discovered many odd treasures hidden beyond just one more turn. Be ready for anything. Have you camera set to a preset exposure so you don’t have to go hunting for settings and possibly miss the shot. Oh and don’t break in to somewhere to get the shot. Sweet talk/bribe the security guard. It’s a lot easier. 😉
