Sydney is an incredibly busy city, but on Sundays, certain areas become almost desolate. The odd fitness fanatic or taxi might show up but that’s about it. It makes for easy free flowing street photography and architectural photography. I saw this man running toward me and saw an opportunity to capture a city without people except those who live in the city on a Sunday. It seemed like he was enjoying his own race with no one to compete against. I guess the no stopping sign urged him along too.

PHOTO TIP

Look around your city and find odd areas, viewpoints and landmarks that tell some kind of story of your city. Combine odd shapes and architecture in one shot. If you have the chance allow someone to walk straight through your shot. Frame your shot to tie the person to the scene in some way. Use your rule of thirds in the composition to create an offset interest as well.
