Canon 5DMk2, 28mm, F5.6, 2 min, ISO 800, no filter, light painting technique, processed in Lightroom.

Yes this is the same road that Forrest Gump ran and then turned round on to head back to Alabama. The exact same view. Although when I captured this I had already spent an house doing the usual, things, standing in the middle of the road, lying on the road, angling the road off to the side etc. You know what I mean. But when I got back in my rental car, I saw the reflection in the side mirror and knew I had something different.

PHOTO TIP

Capturing a completely unique point of view is not that hard, but they can surprise you when they spring up. Using mirrors is a great way to create a unique view of a subject. Theres no trick to it, and usually the same exposure settings will suffice. It just creates a much more interesting perspective of something that may otherwise be ordinary.
