This was probably the wettest day Ive experienced without it actually raining. The moisture in the air, was direct humidity from the low cloud, combined with the mist from the waterfall. Anything outdoors was instantly wet. I was told the area around Snoqualmie was rainy, but this was crazy. It was awesome to experience nature in such a way.  I had to set up my camera on a tripod under a tree, which in hindsight did no good, because of course the tree was dripping as well…haha. Anyway, a good old garbage bag with a hole ripped in it did the trick!

PHOTO TIP

Don’t under-estimate how mist, fog, and humidity can get into your camera and gear. When capturing this shot, even the inside of my bag was wet and it was shut. I use dry bags, that you can buy from any fishing supply store, to house my gear in when going into rainforests or anywhere that extreme damp can be a risk.
