Visiting Fiji, I was invited to meet the King of the Yanuya Island tribe. Only months earlier, Fiji, had been nearly wiped off the map by a devastating cyclone. I sat in the hut on the main fishing beach of the island, looking across to Monuriki island, looking for a composition. then it struck me the hut itself would make the perfect frame for my shot.

PHOTO TIP

When out and about, spend some time looking for ways to frame your shot using whats around you. Tree branches, building arches, whatever you can find. Think outside the norm and look for images within an image. When doing this you will often find a a view becomes available through your frame, like a view from a window, except you’d be including the window in the shot.
